If a foreign investor has his property unit registered, he is entitled to purchase a maximum of 2 units with a maximum total area of 4000 m²; resale is permissible only after 5 years.

The costs of registration amount to 2000 EGP plus lawyer’s fees. However, the Egyptian government plans to secure equal formal status of the foreign investors with Egyptian nationals in respect of investments in tourist areas.

As additional security, the signatures of both parties to the contract of sale can be authenticated before an Egyptian court.

In both cases, the purchase or sale is not subject to any restrictions.
